About two years ago Director Manas Basu told me that he had noticed two specific aspects of my face.He said firstly "Your eyes are beautiful but that's not a very uncommon trait.What is unique is that your face has a melancholy effect..which some directors like Budhhadeb Dasgupta and Gautam Ghose crave for..He added that "If Budhhadeb Dasgupta sees you today He'll call you tomorrow for shooting". Today I'm amazed by manas da's vision.
Yesterday I got a call from Budhhadeb Dasgupta's office to meet him and today I was called again.I was offered an interesting role.I was very happy but only for a few seconds.I heard the role.It had scope for acting but I knew that I had to refuse because of some strongly made decisions I took before I started my career in acting.
I had already refused atleast 7 to 8 films for similar reasons but this was the best offer I have ever refused.The director's been kind to promise me a role in his next.If it happens I'll be lucky to work with a director of this stature.I still remember the first offer I refused about two n half years back and the director said "It's our bad luck".I was pleasantly surprised by his comment.It was unfortunate because I consider that as the second best offer I had to refuse.
Though it's unfortunate but I was always mentally prepared for these things.I'd not regret my decision.The director asked me whether my boy friend will complain if I do such scenes.I'd say rather all those directors whom I had to refuse in the past will complain for sure...
